Faculty Development, Teaching Guidelines, and Curriculum for New Charter and Private Schools with a Consciousness-Based Education Program

  • “Faculty Training Course”
The Faculty Training Course is an introductory faculty development course for teachers. The course presents a comprehensive introduction to Consciousness-Based education as applied to primary and secondary levels. It is designed to give school teachers who have been instructed in the Transcendental Meditation program a basic understanding of Consciousness-Based education and its contribution to the field of education. Special emphasis is given on how to teach the Natural Law curriculum to young students and to applying Maharishi’s Principles of Ideal Teaching.
  • “Maharishi’s Principles of Ideal Teaching”
Maharishi’s Principles of Ideal Teaching is a body of ideal teaching principles based on the natural laws guiding teaching and learning as brought to light by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi over the past 40 years. These principles form the common core of teaching philosophy and practice at Consciousness-Based schools, and enliven the five Fundamentals of Education: Receptivity, Intelligence, Knowledge, Experience, and Expression. When these fundamentals are fully enlivened through ideal teaching, learning is effortless, joyful, successful, and fulfilling.
  • Natural Law Curriculum
The Natural Law curriculum is an interdisciplinary course of study. By exploring universal principles of natural law, students discover patterns of order and growth in their own daily life, in all aspects of human achievement, and in nature. They learn that the ģunified fieldī of natural law—described by physics as giving rise to all the diversity, order, and harmony in the universe—is expressed within them as well. This study, along with the practice of the Transcendental Meditation technique, enables students to understand and directly experience their own unlimited potential and their connection to everything in the universe. .
